History- 1. 1608-first known telescope-built by Hans. 2.1609-Galileo improved the telescope using different lenses-saw the moon's craters,Jupiter's moons,Saturn's rings and found sun spots. 3. 1704-Newton improved telescope using mirror.

411 Hubble Telescope 1.. Scientist were interested in space telescopes around 1946. Lyman Spitzer argued that the ground telescopes blur and distort light coming from the stars but a telescope in orbit would not. 2.. In 1960 NASA began to develop a large space telescope. NASA finished the large space telescope in 1985. It was launched in 1990. 3.. The Hubble Telecope uses a flat giant mirror thinner than a strand of hair.

Newton contributions 1. Newton's telescope allows man to discover not guess. 2. Newton designed the curved mirror telescope. 3. The use of a mirror gathers light and reflects it back.
